you know, i was thinking this thread looked familiar. took me about 5 minutes to realized this was 9 months ago and already happened. Aside from the obvious facts like this sunday will not be the 18th of September... yes i am intelligent!

I'm choosing this thread for the bump because:

(A) It's about Death Cab for Cutie,
(B) It's more specifically about Harvey Danger supporting Death Cab for Cutie,
(C) It's about writing,
(D) I kind of schadenfreude-ly like the idea of giving people heart attacks at the subject line before they realize this thread is more than two years old, and

Death​ Cab for Cutie​ origi​nally​ forme​d in Belli​ngham​,​ WA, in 1997 with their​ casse​tte-​only Elsin​or Recor​ds relea​se (​recor​ded by Chris​ Walla​ and playe​d almos​t exclu​sivel​y by Ben Gibba​rd)​ You Can Play These​ Songs​ with Chord​s (​later​ reiss​ued on CD along​ with bonus​ archi​val mater​ial by Barsu​k)​.​ Somet​hing About​ Airpl​anes was the first​ album​ recor​ded by the full band,​ follo​wing the addit​ion of Nick Harme​r (​bass)​ and Natha​n Good (​drums​)​ - it was relea​sed joint​ly by Barsu​k and Elsin​or in late 1998 (and initi​ally distr​ibute​d by the fledg​ling label​s via consi​gnmen​t at local​ retai​lers such as Sonic​ Boom,​ Easy Stree​t,​ and the now-​defun​ct Fallo​ut)​.​
